C’est aussi un secteur qui joue un rôle économique et social très important à travers d’une part les emplois qu’il crée et les salaires qu’il paye et d’autre part sa contribution directe à la valeur ajoutée globale de l’économie et donc à l’amélioration du taux de croissance de la production intérieure brute de la nation. Toutefois, ces caractéristiques positives ne doivent pas cacher les difficultés internes et les possibles conséquences négatives de ce secteur. En effet, la création d’emplois et la contribution au PIB sont entachées d’une précarité au niveau des emplois et de pertes de recettes fiscales au niveau du budget de l’Etat. Mais, en dépit de ces points faibles, le secteur présente de bonnes perspectives. En effet la propension à la formalisation semble élevée (en témoigne la disposition des gens à se faire enregistrer et à payer les impôts) pour peu que les procédures et coûts y relatifs soient allégées. |
