Cependant, le secteur agricole est archaïque avec des acteurs de plus en plus vieux. Quant aux jeunes, ils sont réticents à embrasser une carrière d’agriculteur. Nombreux sont ceux qui considèrent le métier de producteur agricole dévalorisant. Alors, comment changer la mentalité de ces jeunes ? Qu’est ce qui peut être fait pour attirer plus de jeunes vers l’entrepreneuriat agricole ? Comment amener le peu de jeunes déjà dans le domaine à s’améliorer et à y rester ? Pour répondre à ces différentes interrogations, l’association Yam Pukri avec le soutien financier du Centre technique de coopération agricole et rurale (CTA) a lancé en avril 2018 le projet « Innovation, développement agricole et liens vers le marché pour les jeunes », en abrégé iDEAL-BURKINA. Un double objectif est assigné au projet. Il s’agit d’une part, de renforcer l’utilisation des TIC par les jeunes agripreneurs et agriculteurs afin de développer leur accès au marché, et d’autre part, le renforcement de l’offre de services TIC par les jeunes entrepreneurs numériques afin qu’ils puissent mieux servir les acteurs agricoles.
