| Resumé du document : | Depuis des décennies, l’éducation est au coeur des préoccupations des agences de développement et de nombreuses institutions internationales comme l’ONU. L’émergence d’une nouvelle société où l’information et le savoir occupent une place croissante renforce encore cette position centrale de l’éducation. L’apparition de cette société de l’information est intimement liée au développement des Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication (TIC). Ce travail s’intéresse à ces deux thématiques que sont les TIC et l’éducation en se basant sur une recherche de terrain effectuée au Burkina Faso. Cette recherche a porté sur l’utilisation des TIC dans le système éducatif secondaire au sein de cinq établissements publics. Trois lycées étaient situés dans la capitale Ouagadougou et deux en province, à Ouahigouya. La récolte de données a combiné une approche qualitative avec une quinzaine d’entretiens semi-directifs, et une approche quantitative avec des questionnaires destinés aux élèves des classes de second cycle. Conjuguées avec une revue de la littérature et diverses observations, ces approches ont permis de répondre à la question de base de ce travail qui est la suivante : est-ce que les avantages promis notamment par la communauté internationale pour l’utilisation des TICE (Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication pour l’Enseignement) résistent à l’observation sur le terrain ? Les résultats obtenus viennent confirmer l’hypothèse d’une faible adéquation entre l’engouement international sur le potentiel des TICE et la réalité du terrain. Les élèves comme les professeurs sont une minorité à utiliser les TIC dans leurs lycées, bien que l’image de ces technologies soit largement positive auprès de ces populations. Différents facteurs pourraient augmenter l’utilisation des TICE, comme une meilleure prise en compte du contexte burkinabè ou une implication politique forte. Mais pour que cela se réalise, il faut avant tout que les enseignants voient l’intérêt qu’ils peuvent retirer à utiliser les TIC. |
